From our production in Manchester

This is that rare gem of a family show that genuinely appeals to all ages from four years old upwards. If you think you know about Christmas, this show will make you think again!
Manchester Theatre Awards

Very funny, fast paced, full of excellent songs, audience participation and a lot of laughs. Plus we all learned something about the horrible history of Christmas.  A furiously funny alternative to the traditional panto!
Hodge Podge Days

An absolutely fantastic show and a great opportunity for our family to spend some fun time together at Christmas.  I was howling with laughter at one point and our two girls, aged 6 and 4, loved it!
Expression & Confession

We all thoroughly enjoyed the entire show. I can’t think of many times when my nine year old has been quite so animated. Come to think of it, I don’t recall the last time I was either!
That Lancashire Lass

An hysterical time-travelling production, created with all the theatrical elements required for the perfect family Christmas extravaganza - slapstick comedy, sing-a-long and audience participation. Horrible Christmas is an excellent, hilarious twist on your usual Christmas production!

This hilarious time-travelling seasonal romp with Santa will have you laughing all the way home. The show is a riot, with brilliantly over-the-top costumes, fabulous lighting, humour, jokes and pretty horrible history!
Local Secret

Energetic, hilarious entertainment, blending the ‘history’ aspect in so cleverly that you hardly notice that you’re learning while you laugh! The show is jampacked with brilliant, catchy tunes, hilarious jokes and lots of audience participation. I went with children aged between 7 and 12 and they loved it!
Cambridge Edition

Funnier than any history lesson we can remember, the show incorporated tales from Victorian England to ancient Turkey without losing pace. Where else would you see Charles Dickens, Oliver Cromwell, King Henry VIII, St Nicholas and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on one cast sheet? Suspend your disbelief - you're in for a far from horrible evening!

Pacy, joyful and stuffed like a turkey with foul festive facts and fun. The acting is first-rate and the music is excellent. Another quality production from the BSC!
Native Monster

What a fantastic show! Just the right mix of humour, facts about Christmas, singing and audience participation. Highly recommended if your kids like Horrible Histories or if you want to try an excellent alternative to the panto.

A celebration of Christmas unlike any you'll have seen before! A whistlestop tour through the history of Yuletide with great gags, visual comedy and a script that cleverly weaves fact with fun. The perfect show for all ages!
