It was a special day today, sitting in a room all day with four inspiring people - the creator of the Horrible Histories books, with the head and lead writers, and the producer of the TV series – all putting our heads together to devise ‘Orrible Opera for the Royal Albert Hall. Writing the Birmingham Stage Company’s stage shows has generally been a solitary experience, interspersed with the exciting phone calls I have with HH creator Terry Deary when we deliberate over our joint projects. So to sit all day discussing this unique show with this special group of creatives was a fabulous experience. I also managed to consume the worst lunch I’ve ever had in London. But you can’t win ‘em all!
