Location

De Montfort Hall is situated at the junction of Regent Road and Granville Road on the edge of Victoria Park. Located one mile south of Leicester's city centre, the hall is well signposted on the inner ring road. If using the M1, come off at Junction 21 and follow the signs for the outer ring road A563 (Leicester South and East), turning north along the A50 (Welford Road) or A6 (London Road).

Parking

If arriving by car, please allow enough time to park before the start of the performances as the roads around the hall can get very busy.

De Montfort Hall has its own secure car park off University Road however, spaces are limited and we advise booking in advance. Spaces can be booked online here or through the Box Office on 0116 233 3111 at a cost of £3.50 per car, alternatively spaces can be purchased on the door at a cost of £5 - subject to availability.

Bookings can be taken by the Box Office when you book for your chosen performance and can also be up to 90 minutes before the start of a show. Any spaces still left in the car park will be sold at the car park gate from 60 minutes before the start of the show - subject to availability. This well-lit car park is manned by a member of the De Montfort Hall security staff. Please note this car park is available for evening and weekend performances only.

The closest available public car parks are the two Victoria Park public pay and display car parks, off Granville Road. For detailed information on these and other car parks run by Leicester City Council please call 0116 454 6300.

Disabled parking

Blue badge holders can park in the grounds of the hall by booking one of the 19 spaces in advance - simply call the Box Office on 0116 233 3111.

Buses

You can catch the following buses to get to De Montfort Hall:
• Arriva from St Margaret's Bus Station 48
• First Leicester from Charles Street 22
• Arriva from Charles Street 31, 31A, 80 & 80a

The 48 stops on University Road and the 22, 30 and 31 all set down at the Saxby Street bus stop on London Road. Please see the map above for locations of bus stops. For further bus enquiries please call Traveline on 0870 608 2608.

Trains

De Montfort Hall is a 10 minute walk from Leicester Railway Station, please see above map for location of the station.

Taxis

Taxi services and drivers can drop off and collect customers from the front entrance of the hall with a maximum stay of 10 minutes.

Changing Places facility

The Changing Places toilet is open at the hall to anyone with profound disabilities and who needs additional space and support for changing. The room contains a hoist, an adjustable changing bed, a toilet and an adjustable wash basin - with enough space around for carers and mobility vehicles. 

Please ask a member of staff for a key to access the room, which is on the right hand side of the building, the Garden Suite side, and past the disabled toilet.


2 for 1 Carer Scheme

Disabled patrons can purchase two tickets for the price of one on selected shows as indicated on the website and in the brochure if they are in receipt of one of the following:

1. Middle or Higher Care Component of the Disability Living Allowance / Standard or Enhanced Daily Living Component of the Personal Independence Payment.
2. Higher Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance / Enhanced Mobility Component of the Personal Independence Payment.
3. Certificate of Visual Impairment
4. Letter from their hospital of doctor confirming that they are disabled (this must be the original letter and not a photocopy)
5. Attendance Allowance (Disability Living Allowance for patrons over 65)

Patrons need to supply the Box Office with proof of status (financial information can be removed) to register for the scheme. Once logged they will be able to purchase two tickets for the price of one for 18 months before having to supply proof again.

Wheelchair Users

Please inform the Box Office at the time of booking seats if you or a member of your party is a wheelchair user so that an appropriate position can be allocated. At present it isn't possible for wheelchair users to book their tickets using the on-line booking system though you can e-mail us at [email protected] with contact details to ensure you are accommodated.

Early Entrance

On the evening of an event, we advise disabled customers to arrive at the venue 30 minutes prior to the doors opening for early entrance. When you arrive, staff will be available to assist you if required.

Please make yourself known to the Front of House team on arrival. 

Lift

De Montfort Hall has a lift with access to the first floor Circle bars and Right Circle seats.

Toilets

Our accessible toilet facilities are at ground and upper circle level and are signposted in the building. Accessible toilets are locked using a RADAR key system, which staff members have available if necessary.

Guide Dogs / Hearing Dogs

We welcome assistance dogs to the Hall and are happy to look after your dog during the show if you require.

Blue Badge Parking

Blue badge holders can park in the front entrance of the Hall free of charge by booking one of the 19 disabled access spaces in advance directly through Box Office. Spaces will be held up to 30 minutes before the show begins and then released on a first come, first serve basis.

Loop System

Patrons using a hearing aid with a 'T' switch can collect a receiver and loop prior to a performance from the cloackroom. These do not need to be booked in advance, but proof of identity will be required.

Bags in auditorium

Please be aware that large bags are not allowed inside the auditorium. Any bags such as rucksacks must be left in the cloakroom, for security reasons. Handbags will be allowed inside the auditorium. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
